SYDNEY, February 11, 2022
Hackmakers announced that it is collaborating with Oracle on its next virtual hackathon, FormulaAI Hackathon, which kicks off on February 18, 2022 and runs for four fun-filled days. Hackmakers’ racing-themed virtual hackathon will focus on data analytics, augmented reality, and 3D modeling.
The four-day hackathon is open to innovators, creators, students, faculty, and professionals from across the world who are interested in building amazing solutions for some of the biggest challenges in Racing.
During the hackathon, participants will receive mentorship and advice from experts, including Oracle experts, and will have access to tools and resources to build innovative solutions.
Participating teams will also have access to the latest cloud tools from Oracle, including its Data Science, AI and Analytics services, its streaming, serverless and API services and Autonomous Database with its intuitive AutoML capabilities, graph and spatial capabilities and low code / no code development tools. These tools, among others, will help participants develop prototypes that are practical and scalable. To help provide rapid hands-on education and advice, registrants can access free workshops.
Winners will be selected based on their video presentations, accompanying codebase, and optional additional documentation. Solutions will be judged along the criteria of consistency, originality, quality and design, and commercialization opportunity.
The event features amazing prizes and, for the winners, once in a lifetime experiences. The Grand Prize is an all-expenses paid round trip to the United Kingdom with a personal tour of the Oracle Red Bull Racing Technology Campus at Milton Keynes. Additionally, members of the team will receive a half-day training experience at the Oracle Red Bull Racing Esports Erena.
There will also be two finalists and three honorable mentions. These teams will receive prizes including gaming consoles, F1 racing video games, F1 event racing tickets, Oracle Red Bull Racing merchandise packages, newly-released books, and learning courses.
The hackathon presents challenges focused on problems specific to the automotive racing industry. Although the problem statements will be announced at the start of the hackathon, participants can find more information about the challenge categories below.
Theme 1: Data Analytics
Test your skills on data processing and analysis by creating an accurate weather prediction model for the F1 2021 videogame.
Theme 2: Augmented Reality
Test your skills by building a next-gen Swift app designed for Metaverse, an AR app. Build a user flow which helps app-users leverage data interaction and discover insights so they can improve performance.
Theme 3: 3D Modelling
Create a Blender script with Python that translates JSON world coordinates into a beautiful 3-dimensional racetrack.
After organising a successful 2nd edition of the #BuildwithAI Hackathon and two other hackathons in the previous year, Hackmakers is returning with its “Biggest Hackathon prize pool” in collaboration with Oracle.
With the motto of “Innovating for Impact,” Hackmakers has been running virtual global hackathons for the last three years with a keen focus on innovation, technology and creativity.
